Default Discouraged....Again!

We have supported Exodus International, a group that helps homosexuals come to know Christ and leave that lifestyle, in the past. Today I got their newsletter and they are promoting Pope John Paul's "Theology of the Body" teaching.

I wrote them a note about it and we had a short exchange. Bottom line, they have no problems with the Pope's teachings....I guess the end justifies the means. I shared with them the warning in 2 john 9-11 about partaking of the evil deeds of those who bring a false gospel by giving them a greeting or acknowledging them.

Can't understand why these groups need to go to the Vatican instead of the bible for Truth. Can't understand why these groups think they are glorifying the biblical Christ by promoting and validating a false theology, false religion and false gospel that uphold a false Christ. All they do is obscure the Truth of the saving gospel.

Aarrrgh.

Just came back from a short term missions trip. 13 of us gave our testimonies and only 2 (my husband and myself) mentioned anything about sin and repentance.

I am tired of defending the biblical gospel to professing Christians. I am tired of clarifying the difference between the false gospel and the saving gospel. I am tired of Christians who are worldly and unbiblical and living for the next big media event (tv, songs, movies, u-tube) and their weekend keg event. I am tired of professing Christians who don't know their bibles and are full of themselves and their own philosophies.

Guess I am just tired. I guess I better take a nap!

Oh Pegmo, I am sorry to hear all of this....but I completely understand. It gets so difficult sometimes, especially when you wonder how so many can believe what they do.
The one thing that sends me through the ceiling is the 'catholic' thing! If I have explained it once, I have explained it a 1,000 times.

Pegmo...I hope this encourages you...

Quote:
And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name. Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
The letter to the Church of Philadelphia is always encouraging to me when I feel like "giving up". Do you know what "little strength" is? I think it encompasses many of these...

1) small, little

a) of size: hence of stature, of length

b) of space

c) of age: less by birth, younger

d) of time: short, brief, a little while, how little!

e) of quantity: i.e. number, amount

f) of rank or influence

We are small in number, here for a short time, we are few, and we seem to be ranked among the bottom by most of the "church", and we don't seem to have much influence either...BUT we have NOT denied His name....

We who stand firm on God's Word are frustrated and we are very tired, but God KNOWS this, and He chose us for this time...the special crown for those who love His appearing...who thought it would be "easy"? I did until the last decade...but we are encouraged....Behold, I come quickly: hold that fast which thou hast, that no man take thy crown.

You are all so patient and encouraging! I certainly need more patience. Wish I didn't get so frustrated with people.

Intellectually I understand where we are at and how more and more marginalized we will get....its harder to deal with than I imagined.

Thanks so much for your comfort.....it means alot to me.

Hoping a little more sleep will help too!

I've been out of touch with Exodus since I left Outpost Ministries in Minneapolis in the 1990's (I went to work for Outpost when a friend of mine committed suicide because he felt he could not change from the homosexual lifestyle and had acquired HIV - he came from my parent's home town and graduated with many of my cousins . . . it's a long story.)

Is Sy Rogers still in charge of Exodus? I can't imagine Sy leaning this way - I've talked to him many times and he seemed to be so "straight as an arrow" in every way.

I have never heard Sy's name. The name I always see on their marketing materials is Alan Chambers. Does that ring a bell at all?

While this phrase has some validity due to the NT and the Cross...it is not a quote taken from the Bible, it's a quote by Ghandi. It's one of those phrases like, "judge not, lest ye be judged" that hits me wrong when I see/hear it because it is often misused in an excuse to not confront sin. A Biblical passage is, "be wise as serpents and innocent as doves"...for we are sheep sent out among wolves.
