U.S. delegation returns home after Asia tour focusing on N. Korea

WASHINGTON, June 5 (AP) - (Kyodo)-A U.S. delegation led by Deputy Secretary of State James Steinberg returned home Friday after completing a trip to Asian nations aimed at exploring avenues for dealing with North Korea after its second nuclear test.
"We had excellent discussions," Steinberg told reporters at an airport outside Washington, referring to the delegations' talks with senior officials in Tokyo, Seoul and Beijing.
He would not comment on the substance of the talks with Chinese officials on Friday in Beijing, the last stop on the trip, but they are believed to have covered the enforcement of sanctions against North Korea in response to its May 25 nuclear test.
In talks at the United Nations in New York, the United States, along with Japan, is seeking stronger implementation of the inspection of cargo to and from North Korea stipulated in an existing U.N. Security Council resolution, according to diplomatic sources. ...
