WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama says the biblical command to "love thy neighbor as thyself" is as pertinent now as ever.
The president said Friday that an entire community suffers when some members cannot pay their mortgages or find jobs. He called on Americans to work together to build a better future for everyone, including immigrants...

Wow, "O" forgot the First and Greatest Commandment:
Mat 22:36 Master, which [is] the great commandment in the law?
Mat 22:37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
Mat 22:38 This is the first and great commandment.
Mat 22:39 And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

Wow, "O" forgot the First and Greatest Commandment:
That is easy to do, when you speak about things you have no knowledge on.

Wow, "O" forgot the First and Greatest Commandment:
Amen!
Dear Mr. Obama ~ When I take my own money that I've worked for, and give it to whomever I desire to in order to help them, that's called 'love'.
When you take my money away from me and give it to others, that's called 'theft.'

Sadly, O does what some many who call themselves "Christians" do- cherry pick through the Bible, taking things out of context and bending verses til they fit his situation and then smugly pounding his chest and calling himself a Christian because he "quotes" the Bible.

His "Biblical knowledge" is sorely lacking and clearly evident in his campaign speeches when he contradicted his own statements on verses, one time he praises the sermon on the mount as the most influential passages on his own life, then later tears it apart as oppressive at the next speech. The Bible's Words ARE timely, "even now there are many antichrists in the world", "people will take pleasure in things that are worthy of death", "Sodom and Gomorrah were given as an example....", "beware of wolfs in sheeps clothing"....he needs to repent and let the Holy Spirit reveal The Word to him.

This is SO what happens when you take the verses out of context! Shame on him. But, from a politician, what do you expect?:angry4:

he is a complete embarrassment. He reminds me SO MUCH of the proverbial college senior - someone who has yet to have a steady job and pay taxes, yet, because of being a college senior has ALL THE ANSWERS, as provided by professors who also have never been in the "real world"....
Implying that if we disarmed - the world would follow. Thinks like that. SO so so immature and superficial. Sigh.....
Amen!

Right on gabby. Our president doesn't quite know the difference yet. :angry4:

I'll try, your who am I's are really tough, also. John Mark was a tough one b/c he isn't really named in scripture, but commentators have named him as the kid who ran out of his cloak.

Yes, well, I went through Phillip and Timothy before I got it right. I knew he wasn't named ~ I only stumbled on the right answer because of your hint.
Sorry ~ off topic. I'll be quiet now.
