For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions, and will turn away from listening to the truth and wander off into myths. (2 Timothy 4:3-4)

You Best Wake Up Because This Is Happening To Evangelicalism Right Now

Apprising Ministries has been warning about, and documenting, the sad slide of largely pretending to be Protestant evangelicalism into becoming what I’ve referred to as The Ecumenical Church Of Deceit (ECoD); and much of the current sorry state of the church visible can be traced back through to the semi-pelagian (at best) man-centered Church Growth Movement (CGM) of Fuller Theological Seminary.

Sadly, evangelicalism has now followed the ill-fated mainline denominations out of the closet of man-love, and its heart murmur spirituality at the expense the God-centered spirituality of sola Scriptura. Here I’ll give you a peek at its bleak future of division and compromise of God’s Word now that the mainstream has embraced the sinfully ecumenical neo-liberal cult of the Emergent Church aka the Emerging Church-with its its “big tent” Progressive Christianity aka Emergence Christianity.

Desperate for numbers, having been corrupted by the Druckerite Church Growth Movement and losing faith in the all sufficiency of God’s Word, in the late 90′s more and more evangelical churches began seeking their solice in more man-pleasing messages and started using warped and toxic teachings of apostates like Living Spiritual Teacher and EC guru Brian McLaren, which means they ended up poisoning their own young.

This ignominious idea of telling people what they want to hear is itself the very hallmark of the Church Growth Movement, whether it’s the Purpose Driven pragmatism of PDL pope Rick Warren or the new postmodern version of liberalism’s gospel of social reform ala Emerging Church rock star pastor Rob Bell. Or do you think it’s simply an odd coinicidence that both men happen to be graduates of Fuller Theological Cesspool Seminary-the very den from which this Church Growth Movement would slither.

And I’m here to say that it’s well past time for evangelical leaders and pastors to cease their dead on impression of Rip Van Winkle and wake up to the fact that the spiritual cancer of highly subjective Contemplative Spirituality/Mysticism (CSM), as perpetrated by Living Spiritual Teacher and Quaker mystic Richard Foster and advanced by Foster and his spiritual twin Dallas Willard as Spiritual Formation, is now metastasizing throughout the heart of the church visible.

So let me show you broad road it has now driven itself onto; first, you’ll need to understand that this EC cult of the new liberalism learned well from their evil forebears and have followed the exact same track they once used to infiltrate the now mortally wounded mainline denominations. The EC, which was launched by Leadership Network, has swallowed much of the largely spiritually obtuse evangelical camp, which they’ve been indoctrinating for years now through its own publishing houses, church-related schools, seminaries, denominations, etc.

I’m sorry to tell you, but there are many prominent names within the Emerging Church who have already infiltrated evangelical institutions, which is why you’re seeing their corrupt Bibliology already affecting the younger sectors of evangelicalism. You see, many of them are not old enough, or informed enough, to realize that they are being fed the same theological poison once dispensed by modern theology aka liberalism; it’s simply repackaged as a postmodern theology, i.e. a newer form of progressive/liberal theology.

There’s not really much difference because once you reject the text of the Bible, the only other place you can go is within corrupt human nature, which inevitably produces the same heresies that have now mortally wounded the mainline denominations. As we examine their history from the late 1960′s on we see they would begin the practice of spurious CSM whose immediate fruit is sinful ecumenicsm; the next step was the ordination of women to the office of pastor-teacher (i.e. senior teaching elder) in violation of Holy Scripture.

What happens next is this invariably leads to the rejection of the doctrine of Hell in favor of some supposed universal “Fatherhood of God and Brotherhood of man,” and the very next thing we observe was the embrace of the deviant lifestyle of homosexuality as a viable one for the Christian. I wish I had better news, but from my closely monitoring intel on the Internet, I can tell you for certain that much more of evangelicalism than you may even want to know is already well along on this broad path.

Should funding allow me to continue with Apprising Ministries I’m going to begin to take you through the various doctrines of classic liberalism, and its clone progressive Christianitywhich is not progressive or Christian-so you’ll be able to see that the McLarens and Bells are basically regurgitating doctrines and arguments long ago debunked by Christian apologists e.g. like Dr. Walter Martin (1928-1989).

In closing this, for now, a good example is gay-affirming “pastor” Jay Bakker, leader of a support group called Revolution NYC trying to pass itself off as a church, and who heads up a rather rapscallion, and largely Biblically illiterate bunch in the Emerging Church who’ve crowned themselves Outlaw Preachers. While he seems to be very sincere in what he teaches, the fact remains, Bakker is sincerely ignorant when it comes to Scripture.

Sadly, so is much of mainstream evangelicalism who’ve been fed the mythology of the Emerging Church.

Apprising Ministries is very grateful for the ways God has been extending this labor in the Lord, far beyond anything we’d ever dreamed or imagined when we began this fully integrated auxiliary from Connecticut River Baptist Church (SBC), where I serve as pastor-teacher. And as I’ve mentioned previously, even though my local church is affiliated with the SBC (for now), this online apologetics and discernment ministry itself is designed as a non-denominational outreach.

Truly we never envisioned ever being among those who also pioneering this important Internet mission field. And now as we go through this expensive season, with our increased heating bills, we’re feeling the pinch of this economic slide. Unfortunately, we also suddenly lost two of our largest monthly financial contributors this past year and donations as a whole have stayed way down.

I’ve told you before how the Lord has seen fit to steadily increase the exposure and readership greatly in the 5+ years now that AM has been online. We remain thankful for the small handful of faithful financial supporters, a couple of which have been with us from the beginning, making it possible for me to be here. However, they cannot carry the load alone and we do pray that some of our many readers will also be willing to help as well; unfortunately, until now that just hasn’t been the case.

The fact is I have no staff to assist me with research, writing, answering email questions, etc. and as it stands right now AM still receives no financial assistance at all from any other agencies or churches. And, in addition, at this time AM doesn’t have any radio program from which to make appeals; nor do we have any product to sell, and as such a work like depends entirely upon the generosity of God’s people. Though we still await; we also pray and remain hopeful that finally a church or two might consider taking on AM as even a small part of their mission giving.

If you’ve been blessed through the work here that perhaps you might consider helping to support this labor. During this difficult time a gift of any amount-whether one time or on a regular basis-goes a long way toward helping to keep AM available along the Internet Front. Clinton: US Sending Aid Teams to Libya’s Borders

Monday, February 28, 2011

Geneva (AP) – U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says the U.S. is sending assistance teams to Libya’s borders with Egypt and Algeria. The teams will help desperate refugees trying to flee a potential civil war.

Clinton says the U.S. has pledged $10 million to help refugees.

Speaking after a day of discussions with European allies in Switzerland, Clinton says the U.S. is leaving all its options on the table to deal with Libya.

She would not discuss military options in detail. But she says that so long as Libyan leader Moammar Gadhafi attacks his people the U.S. will consider a range of responses.

A scheduled meeting of the Middle East mediators Russia, the United States, the United Nations and the European Union in March will mark an important turning point.

According to the Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, the quartet will try to draw borderlines between Israel and a sovereign Palestinian state.

Libya: Cameron proposes no-fly zone to protect Libyan people from attacks by Gaddafi loyalists

Britain will work allies on plans to enforce a no-fly zone in Libya to protect its people from military attacks by Muammar Gaddafi’s government, David Cameron has told the House of Commons.

Monday 28 February 2011

The Prime Minister repeated his earlier call for Col Gaddafi to step down and said that all measures would be considered to increase pressure on him to go.

“We do not in any way rule out the use of military assets,” Mr Cameron said.

“We must not tolerate this regime using military force against its own people. In that context I have asked the Ministry of Defence and the Chief of the Defence Staff to work with our allies on plans for a military no-fly zone.”

The European Union has agreed to impose an assets freeze and travel ban on Col Gaddafi and 25 members of his family and inner circle.

Baroness Ashton, the EU’s high representative for foreign affairs, told a meeting of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva that the union would impose further restrictions on Libya very soon, noting that violent repression in the north African country “shocks our conscience.”

She said the EU sanctions might include “an embargo on equipment which might be used for internal repression.”

Hillary Clinton, the US secretary of state, met with her counterparts from Europe and Russia on the sidelines of the UN meeting to discuss fresh measures to weaken Col Gaddafi’s regime.

She said she had been seeking a consensus so that “we can better coordinate and organise in meeting the expectations laid down by the Security Council.”

William Hague, the Foreign Secretary, also said it was time for Col Gaddafi to go, and warned those supporting his efforts to crush protests that there will be a “day of reckoning” for anyone involved in human rights abuses.

Asked if the dictator’s days were now numbered, Mr Hague told the BBC: “I certainly hope so. Kuwait key opposition group calls for PM ouster

Feb 28 10:05 AM US/Eastern

A key Kuwaiti opposition group on Monday demanded the ouster of the prime minister as youth activists called for a rally on March 8 to force the premier to quit.

“The first step toward reforms is in forming a new government under a new prime minister that should be capable of running the country and reforming imbalances,” said a statement by the nationalist Popular Action Bloc.

The new government should combat corruption, safeguard the constitution and public funds, guarantee public freedoms and find solutions for unemployment and housing, the statement said.

The bloc, headed by veteran former three-time parliament speaker Ahmad al-Saadun, is one of the most influential opposition groups in the oil-rich Gulf state. It only has four MPs in the 50-seat house but several backers.

Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Mohammad al-Ahmad al-Sabah, a nephew of the ruler, has been under increasing pressure to resign and in January narrowly survived a non-cooperation vote that could have ousted him.

Since being appointed to the post in early 2006, Sheikh Nasser has fought almost non-stop with the opposition in parliament and five of his six cabinets were forced to resign.

As a result of ongoing political crises, parliament was also dissolved three times.

Opposition groups in Kuwait have agreed to shelve anti-government protests in February as the country marks the 50th anniversary of its independence, the 20th anniversary of Kuwait’s liberation from Iraqi occupation and the emir’s ascendance to power five years ago………………..http://www.breitbart.com/article.php?id=CNG.8a385502b491a612fde23cd3e59f1fdb.c21&show_article=1

Report: Forces dressed in civilian clothes open fire on demonstrators in Tripoli market; Gaddafi in TV interview accuses Western countries of abandoning his fight against terrorists.

02/28/2011 20:57

Several people were killed and others wounded on Monday after forces loyal to Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi opened fire to disperse a protest in the capital, the online edition of Quryna newspaper reported.

The protest in the Tajoura neighbourhood gathered close to 10,000 protesters, the Libyan newspaper said, quoting its correspondent in the capital Tripoli.

“When the protesters reached the Souk Juma, they were joined by armed men from the Gaddafi battalion who were dressed as civilians and opened fire on the unarmed youths … Many among the youths were wounded and killed,” it said, referring to a market in Tripoli.

Meanwhile, Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi accused Western countries of abandoning his government in its fight against “terrorists” in an interview with US television network ABC on Monday.

“I’m surprised that we have an alliance with the West to fight al Qaeda, and now that we are fighting terrorists they have abandoned us,” Gaddafi, told ABC’s Christiane Amanpour. “Perhaps they want to occupy Libya.”………………………….http://www.jpost.com/MiddleEast/Article.aspx?id=210232

Pirates Reportedly Hijack Danish Boat With Three Children on Board

Published February 28, 2011 | FoxNews.com

COPENHAGEN, Denmark Ð Pirates reportedly have hijacked a Danish sailboat with four adults and three children on board.

The ship was hijacked Thursday while traveling through the Indian Ocean and is now on its way to Somalia, Denmark’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Charlotte Slente told DR News, a national TV News channel in Denmark.

A Danish couple, their three children and two technicians were on board the sailboat, DR News reported.

Navy Operational Command started investigating immediately after receiving a distress signal from the Danish boat, Slente said.

All relatives of those on board the boat have been informed of the events and are in close contact with the Danish authorities, Slente told the station.

“This is a very difficult situation – even to relatives. Not least because there are children involved, and therefore we are asking the Danish media about being gentle on the relatives, ” she said.

For security reasons the Ministry would not supply any further details on the missing passengers, DR News reported.

Netanyahu: Israel can’t ignore world pressure over settlement construction

Premier tells Likud faction that government is making efforts to maintain existing activity in West Bank, but can’t keep its ‘head in the wall’ in the face of the existing international reality.

Latest update 18:37 28.02.11

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday that Israel could not ignore growing international pressure over construction in the West Bank, but said that the government would preserve ongoing settlement activity to the best of its ability.

“We are currently making efforts to maintain the existing construction, but we must understand that we are [faced with] a very difficult international reality,” Netanyahu told ministers from his Likud faction.

Netanyahu was speaking one week after the United States vetoed a United Nations resolution condemning Israeli settlements in the West Bank and four days before Mideast Quartet officials were to meet Israeli and Palestinian representatives in an effort to jump start the peace process.

“The American veto in the Security Council took great effort to achieve,” said Netanyahu. “We could ignore it all and say ‘no problem’, but as the prime minister responsible for this state, I have the ultimate responsibility.”

As such, he hinted that Israel should refrain from pushing forth new construction plans.

“I am the prime minister, and I am responsible for this state,” said Netanyahu. “We could surely keep our heads in the wall, but that’s not how I do things.”…………………….http://www.haaretz.com/news/diplomacy-defense/netanyahu-israel-can-t-ignore-world-pressure-over-settlement-construction-1.346283

The US military is repositioning naval and air forces around Libya, a Pentagon official said on Monday, as international demands intensify for an end to Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi’s four-decade rule.

“We have planners working and various contingency plans and I think it’s safe to say as part of that we’re repositioning forces to be able to provide for that flexibility once decisions are made … to be able to provide options and flexibility,” said Colonel David Lapan, a Pentagon spokesman.

“We’re still in that planning and preparing mode should we be called upon to do any of those types of missions, whether humanitarian and otherwise.”

Lapan declined to give details about the types of ships or units being repositioned or how US commanders plan to use them.

“No decisions have been made yet,” he said.

The Pentagon now has two aircraft carriers in its naval command region that includes the Arabian Sea and Gulf, Lapan said, but does not have any carriers in the Mediterranean……………………….http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-4035733,00.html
